    Walter T. Van Tiem, owner of Fresh Coat Painting, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, began his painting experience in Grosse Pointe, Michigan in 1975. He had the pleasure of assisting his dad, Thomas, in painting the family home on Village Lane. “I vividly remember the Sears brand oil base paint we used. It was a medium shade of green and very hard to work with. We did the whole house by brush. I vowed I’d never do this for a living.” Now, over three decades later, Walter enjoys a successful career painting houses for other people. Since 1995, Fresh Coat Painting has helped numerous homeowners improve the value of their homes and businesses.

    Walter is a former member of Boy Scout Troop 96, of Grosse Pointe Michigan, where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He also served faithfully as a United States Marine from 1982 – 1986. His time in included MCRD San Diego, 29 Palms, California (MCCES) and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina (2nd BN 8 Marines).

We believe in using only quality exterior stains from Cabot, Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore. We’re convinced cleaning and staining every 2-5 years will help prolong the life of your investment.
